Pastor Jennifer's Bio
Jennifer Wilcox Cummins is Pastor Shepherd for Spiritual Formation here at St. Andrew’s. Jennifer is a catalyst and connector of people. Her greatest passion is to help people see where their life stories actually help to tell God’s Story of love, healing, reconciliation and new life through Jesus Christ, fueled by the Holy Spirit! Jennifer works closely with the ministry teams for Youth, Children, Pre-school, K’Deo and Adults and she enjoys working across ministry areas as a collaborator.
She is a graduate of Whitworth College (now Whitworth University), Spokane, WA and Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA. She was first called as the Pastor of Lawrence and Western Presbyterian Churches in the snowy, sweaty suburbs of Fergus Falls, MN and then served as the Associate Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in the cool pines of Prescott, AZ. After being involved in renewal work around the Presbyterian Church, Jennifer was called to St. Andrew’s where she first served in Youth and Family Ministry which eventually moved into Outreach, Evangelism & Membership and now her ministry focus is on Spiritual Formation!
Jennifer loves the view of the ocean from any beach or bluff and she doesn’t shy away from diving into good conversations over passion fruit iced tea in any given local establishment! Some of her favorite pastimes are collecting 1950’s & 60’s “kitch.” Her dream is to one day open a coffee house where she can facilitate growing friendships among strangers, help people engage in ministry with the community and encourage meaningful conversations around the five Formica & chrome 1950’s tables she’s collected over the years!
Jennifer is particularly passionate about engaging with people who are not currently a part of the Church but are searching for authentic community and Life. She firmly believes that God is at work already in the lives of people who are skeptical of the church but are curious about spiritual ideas and the things of faith. Her hope and prayer for her life and ministry is that she can help people discover life with our God Who is for us and loves us all even more than we can imagine!
