The Legacy of Chris Woodard

by Travis Mundy, Youth Director

On March 1 our dear friend and Youth Assistant, Chris Woodard will be leaving. He is headed to Phoenix to live with his brother and his brother’s three young kids. Chris has served as the Assistant Youth Director for three years and in that time, changed the lives of so many students.

Before the name “D’WAVE” was ever on the scene, Chris was an active leader at St. Andrew’s getting the youth ministry program started. At the beginning, there were only several students around. And through his hard work and spirit over the last three years, D’WAVE Youth Ministry started and exploded. There are now hundreds of teenagers whose lives are impacted every week because of what Chris has done.

He has led worship, written talks, invented crazy games.  Chris has led missions trips, been a leader at summer camp, come up with monthly events and more! He has given his time, energy, and talents to this church in so many ways it is hard to count. He has helped out with K’Deo. He has been an essential leader of The Worship Thing. He began and has been leading a vibrant college ministry. And Chris has ushered, given sermons, set up prayer stations, and volunteered in countless areas and ministries around this church.

And although he will be greatly missed, we are confident that God has some amazing things planned in Chris’ life. He will impact people no matter where he goes. I would ask you to pray for Chris and his family.  Pray for good things, joyous things to happen in his life during this transition. Pray that God would continue to use him in mighty ways.  And if you would like to let Chris know how grateful you are for him, send him an email.  It’s woodstyle2@yahoo.com.  May we recognize how blessed we have truly been to have Chris as a member of St. Andrew’s.
