St. Andrew’s Vacation Bible School 2008

Come and play in “God’s Big Backyard!” That’s where you’ll find your friends in June—at St. Andrew’s Vacation Bible School 2008! It’ll be like having a party in your backyard everyday, but learning to serve Jesus while you play!

Did I tell you God’s Backyard has a tree house? A dog with floppy ears and a few more interesting critters come alive when we worship in the Sanctuary.

In “God’s Big Backyard,” you’ll be a member of a cool neighborhood club: the Backyard Bible Club. There you’ll meet Bible heroes like Miriam, Zacchaeus, Peter, and Paul who show us how to serve the Lord as well as our families, friends, and neighbors. You’ll also get to try fun projects called Clothesline Creations, the cool arts and crafts everyone loves to do. And of course, what party is complete without singing, dancing, and eating? We’ll be rocking out and munching like crazy.

It’s going to be so much fun celebrating and learning to serve Jesus and others at “God’s Big Backyard,” so don’t miss out. Register today! Church members can turn in their packets on Sundays, March 30 and April 6. Children from the community can register beginning March 31.

All “Kiddos” must register for “God’s Big Backyard” and bring the form to the following drop-off points:

1) On March 30 & April 6 at the tables between worship services. Look for us in Gospel Hall and in the garden outside The WorkS.H.O.P.

“Go Fish” is arguably the most creative musical group for children – period. Their concerts are energized, engaging, entertaining, and unlike anything your kids have ever seen! Their latest album, Snazzy, was voted the #2 children’s album of 2007 by ChristianMusicToday.com and has even been nominated for a Dove Award as “Children’s Album of the Year.” Not too shabby!

This summer, we are incredibly blessed to bring the “Go Fish” Snazzy Tour to St. Andrew’s! Wednesday, June 25 at 7 p.m., smack dab in the middle of VBS, “Go Fish” will take center stage in our Sanctuary! Tickets will sell out quickly, and we are giving our Vacation Bible School families the first chance to grab ’em! Don’t miss out!

We accept children who are three years old through sixth grade. Children are grouped according to their birthdate, which means children of the same age and grade levels are placed together. Grade levels are named according to the grade students have just completed. For 3 and 4 year old classes, we use the age the child was on September 1, 2007.

Three Year Old “Kiddos”: These children must have a birthdate on or before September 1, 2004.

Students who have completed sixth grade have two options: they may join a regular VBS class or they may serve as a Buddy.

Complimentary CDs with all songs will be given to the oldest child in each family at no extra cost.

Every “Kiddo” and full-time staff member will receive an official “God’s Big Backyard” T-shirt provided on the day of opening. Please list size choice on the registration form. T-shirt sizes are:

Yes. VBS is meant to be a fun experience and kids like to be with friends. Please indicate the friend your child wants to be matched with on the registration form. We will try to place your child with at least one of the friends listed on the form. However, make sure the friend is registered and in the same age group as your child.

Please notify the Registrar as soon as possible if your registered child cannot attend “God’s Big Backyard.” Because curriculum and T-shirts are ordered in advance and quite costly, cancellations MUST be made by May 27 to receive a refund of the registration fees.

We use both St. Andrew’s campuses for VBS. Some classes, daily worship, and closing musical will be held in our beautiful facility on the SW campus! Many students will have class on the NE campus.
