New Crosses in the Sanctuary

Three new crosses have been added to the south wall of our sanctuary, the last two, and the fourth from the right.  Woodcarver/artisan Bob Raikes, longtime member of St. Andrew’s, visualized 12 crosses for the south wall of our “new” sanctuary.  By the time the sanctuary opened, Bob had completed four, which have hung there for these past two years.  Recently he completed three more which have now been added to the others.  Bob’s concept has been  to help worshipers visualize this most important of Christian symbols as it has evolved throughout history.  His hope is that by the time all twelve are completed, we will see crosses that represent much of our Christian heritage, including a cross on which Christ hangs, which he is currently completing.  Our thanks to Bob and his vision to help make our sanctuary a more meaningful place of worship and prayer.
