Pentecost SundaySunday May 10th is Pentecost Sunday. “Let the Spirit ‘Zap’ You.” Why is it that celebrations like Christmas and Easter are given the whole show? Easter, without Pentecost, as far as the church is concerned…is a dud. Pentecost has been called “the birthday of the Christian Church.” It occurs 50 days following Easter and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles. Read Acts 2:1-21 and come, let us celebrate! May the Spirit zap you until you tingle with joy! The Pentecost Offering is being received next Sunday, May 11. Funds received will go to support the House of Neighborly Service. HNS has been a treasured ministry of Presbytery de Cristo for over 50 years. Located in South Tucson, HNS serves at-risk youth and their families with a variety of programs including computer literacy, after school and summer programs, gang prevention, tattoo removal, and much more. Checks can be made to St. Andrew’s with HNS Pentecost Offering in the memo. Return to home page |
