Making Christ’s Love Known to our Visitors

     St. Andrew’s Shepherd Connectors - a way for our visitors to become connected to Jesus Christ. There are many different ways St. Andrew’s can show the love of Jesus Christ within our community. One way is our response when visitors make themselves known on Sunday mornings. This is where Shepherd Connectors come into action!

     Shepherd Connectors make a friendly contact with our visitors, thank them for visiting St. Andrew’s, encourage them to return and help them find an activity or ministry at St. Andrew’s that fits their needs. This shows that St. Andrew’s is a friendly and welcoming place to worship and provides us an opportunity to interact with our visitors. God uses us in His ministry in many ways. A few kind words may be all that God wants us to do at the moment. There are times when the first contact will lead to follow up calls, emails, and encouraging the visitor to know Christ better through our ministries . God’s plan may have us sending a welcome card or dropping off some cookies or baked item. He might have us meet the visitor on Sunday and introduce them to other Christians and let them know about worshiping with us and becoming a member. He might have us continue to mentor the visitor as their faith continues to grow. It is a wonderful experience to do God’s work and be lead by the Spirit!

     The Shepherd Connector ministry is organized by Craig Vulkoff and Don Spiece. As visitors make themselves known, Craig assigns them to a Shepherd Connector. The Shepherd Connector makes contact, welcomes them to St. Andrew’s, and opens the door for them to become closer to Christ through ministries at St. Andrew’s. Don communicates with the Shepherd Connectors to keep them informed about the ministry and     answer any questions. This is done mostly by email and includes suggested ideas, dates of upcoming events at St. Andrew’s and good experiences of other Shepherd Connectors.

     Can you become a Shepherd Connector? We are always in need of new Shepherd Connectors since God has this ministry growing! The only prerequisite is to be a faithful and loving Christian, willing to share your love of Jesus Christ with others. Couples, singles, and even small teams of St. Andrew’s members are welcome to join us with this ministry.
