Mission Statement
"To know God and make God known through lives transformed by Christ."

Vision Statement

We will commit ourselves and all our resources to deepen the spiritual growth of those seeking lives transformed by Christ.
These are our four priorities:

  • Continue existing ministries and provide practical instruction for living the life transformed by Christ.
  • Strengthen and expand our "hands-on" mission opportunities.
  • Reach the unchurched in our area.
  • Pursue the more efficient use and/or feasible expansion of existing facilities.

Strategic Priorities
St. Andrew's will continue to focus on and deepen the spiritual growth of the congregation and its individual members.

  1. Continue existing programs and develop new programs for individuals and members to assist in all stages of their spiritual growth.
  2. Continue building on St. Andrew's strong heritage in healing ministry and intercessory prayer.
  3. Emphasize the "priesthood of all believers" and assist in the development of each individual members' spiritual gifts and talents.
  4. Provide practical instruction in how to live "the life transformed by Christ" through children, youth, adult and older adult ministries.

This is the process

  • Charge all members to be active in worship, study and service.
  • Develop programs to meet the spiritual/support needs of teachers.
  • Promote small group ministries.
  • Develop an intergenerational mentoring program.
  • Identify spiritual needs and talent resources of members.

Support Priorities
St. Andrew's will involve the Transforming Love of Christ through support of existing mission ministries and the development of new ministries to emphasize our "hands on" response to mission needs in God's Kingdom.

  1. Continually review existing funded mission programs and investigate the expanded support for those and new ministries.
  2. Create an awareness of the importance of mission to the congregation.
  3. Emphasize the importance of stewardship and its relation to mission funding.
  4. Encourage and develop the ways and means for individuals to commit to Christian Service.

  • Youth on Their Own
  • Prison Ministry

Outreach priorities
The St. Andrew's congregation has an obligation to reach the unchurched in our area to the full extent of our resources and abilities, and to plan for the resultant growth

  1. Actively support outreach and cooperate with other area churches and groups outside our leadership and facilities.

  2. Actively support and coordinate with Presbytery for growth of existing churches (including St. Andrew's) and establishment of new churches in the northwest area of Tucson.

This is the process

  • Establish young adult social ministries.
  • Provide young adult Sunday School classes.
  • Support young adult sports teams.
  • Establish small groups for young adults.
  • Advertise young adult CE ministries.
  • Continue to strengthen Contemporary Worship Service.

Building and Staff Priorities
St. Andrew's is a mission and program driven church. To assure the integrity of existing and future ministries, consistent planning and review of facilities and leadership are essential.

  1. Develop a ministry/facility plan to support substantial increases in the St. Andrew's congregation, consistent with the expected growth in our area.
  2. Pursue feasible expansion and/or more efficient use of existing facilities.
  3. Assure the adequate provision of ordained staff and lay leadership effective in meeting the needs of a mission and program driven body.

This is the process

  • Provide for additional rooms for all types of CE classes.
  • Expand the library into a family resource center.
  • Provide additional meeting rooms and sports courts for youth and young adults.
