Spiritual Gifts Workshop
Everyone at St. Andrew’s is invited to a Spiritual Gifts Workshop on Saturday, October 2,  9– 11 a.m. in Friendship Hall on the NE Campus. Even if you have all completed a “Time and Talents Survey” or a “Spiritual Gifts Inventory” in the past, this workshop will focus on: (1) Discovering your Spiritual Gifts, (2) Interpreting your Spiritual Gifts, and (3) Learning how to apply those gifts in living out St. Andrew’s Vision Statement and growing the Kingdom of God. Coordinators Mike and Cindy Lange will then do follow-up with each individual to assure that your time is not spent in vain. We realize that in past years we haven’t done the best job in achieving our goals. We envision that this workshop will be “fresh start” and “a new beginning” that will be valuable to you, and that will glorify the God who has called us!

Advance registration to assure proper set-up and seating is requested. please call the church office at 297-7201 for the name of the contact person. Please provide your name(s), email address, and a good contact telephone number. Mid-morning refreshments are included, and childcare is available by calling at 382-2125. Our prayer is that all will discover new opportunities to serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

Chuck Wagon Supper and Country Fair
Coming this Fall! Save this date:  Saturday, October 9 at 5 p.m. for a Chuckwagon Dinner and Country Fair sponsored by the Kitchen Kabinet and your Heavenly Hosts! This is an invitation to all church members: artists, craftspeople, good cooks, bakers, etc., to share your talents with us as we raise additional funds for our kitchen renovation. We saw at our Mega Market last spring the abundance of talent within our congregation, and we’re hoping you’ll help us again. In order to make this a success, we need all your talents as we plan for our “Country Fair.” If you do any sort of arts or crafts, stained glass, woodworking, jewelry-making, quilting, sewing, or any of the needle arts…if you like to make teddy bears…or if you make jams and jellies…or love to bake…we welcome you, your projects and your fellowship as we prepare for this fun-filled event!  We will have further announcements in the weeks ahead, but wanted to give you ample opportunity to decide how you might like to participate and what items you will make for our Country Fair! This will be a great opportunity to get a head start on next year’s holiday shopping! Stay tuned for future announcements as we’ve some great surprises in store! Stop by the Heavenly Hosts table in Gospel Hall Sundays if you have questions, or contact any member of the Kitchen Kabinet:

NW Senior Fellowship (HUGS)
Northwest Senior Fellowship
(also known as HUGS at our meetings - Happily Under God’s Supervision and because we give lots of hugs every week), is a Senior Outreach Ministry designed to provide socialization, stimulation and a wholesome environment for seniors who live alone, with family members or in residential care facilities in the northwest.

We meet every Wednesday morning at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, 7650 N. Paseo Del Norte, from mid-September till the last Wed. in April, with time off during the holidays.  Our morning begins at 10:15am with our traditional theme song and familiar hymns, followed by devotions, visits from our Pre-school children, a stimulating program and hot lunch.  The seniors are ready to depart for home at 12:45pm.  The only charge involved is $3 for lunch.  This is an excellent opportunity for care givers to have a few hours of time to themselves.  Our facilities can accommodate walkers and wheelchairs, however, seniors must be capable of taking care of their own physical needs.

Several local churches send volunteers to help with this much needed non-denominational program.  The average weekly attendance is 65.   This is a fun, caring group of seniors who love to laugh and enjoy each other’s company!

If you know a senior that would benefit from this ministry, please call Barbara Gross, St. Andrew’s coordinator, 297-3495 or email to barbgross@comcast.net

Don Spiece and Pat Quinn, under the sponsorship of Boy Scout Troop 211 and St. Andrew’s, is offering the youth God and Life program. The God and Life program will meet at 7 p.m. every other Wednesday through January in the Wharf 2 classroom. The God and Life program is part of the Programs of Religious Activities with Youth (PRAY) series, www.PRAYpub.org. Its objectives are to help young people grow in their understanding of Christian faith, to help young people see how other people have translated belief into action, and to provide young people with the opportunity for Christian service to others. The PRAY series has been recognized by several national youth-serving agencies as the religious emblem program for Protestant and Independent Christian churches.

Youth Sunday School
Our youth (6th – 12th grade) Sunday School classes are very exciting. We meet in the Boondocks (lower level of Westminster Hall on NE Campus) at 10:45.

Gathering Small Groups
The Gathering (High School small groups) meets Sunday nights from 5-6:30pm. We have a whole NEW plan for small groups and now they are for EVERYONE who wants to investigate God, whether you’ve been in church your whole life or just came for the first time last week.  It’s going to be super exciting and fun and we think it will really be great for your student.  Basically, we are going to host a guys small group and a girls small group in leaders homes (or your homes!!!).  The time will be 90 minutes and divided into thirds.  One-third will be spent hanging out and having fun together.  One-third will be talking with and really praying for one another, and the last third will be spent really digging into the Bible and who God is.   I think this will be a great new change and we really encourage ALL High School students to be a group (you don’t even need to commit to it).  .

Our new series will be “God’s Blog.”  If God had a blog, what would it say?  What would He say to us?  Come and find out in this awesome new series.  Tsunami meets in the Boondocks.
