You’re Goin’ to Love “Go Fish!” Believe Us!
On Wednesday night June 25, you have an opportunity to be totally entertained and have a lot of fun! “Go Fish” is coming to St. Andrew’s to do a concert! How do I know you’re going to love their concert? Take my word for it! Technically, “Go Fish” entertains in the world of Children’s Ministry. Kids love them, but so do teens, moms, dads, baby boomers (like me), and grandparents! Big hits by “Go Fish” include “Jesus Loves Me” and “The B I B L E.” But you’ve never heard these traditional songs the way the Fish sing them–in three-part harmony with style! They had 2000 Children’s Ministry professionals up and dancing in the aisles at the 2008 Children’s Pastor’s Conference in Orlando. I know because I was one of them! “Go Fish” celebrates our faith with music that will lift your spirit high. I think even Jesus would be dancing at a “Go Fish” concert. Come! You’re goin’ be dancing too. ~ Barbara Wheeler Believe me when I tell you that as Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry, I’ve sat through more than my fair share of so-called “children’s church entertainers.” Clowns, jugglers, and really mediocre magicians… The first time I saw “Go Fish” in concert, I was genuinely impressed. I found myself singing along, clapping, dancing, and thinking “If only there was some way these guys could come to St. Andrew’s!” That was three years ago at the 2005 Children’s Pastor’s Conference, and this summer, I’m thrilled that we are finally able to bring this awesome Christian singing group to Tucson! Getting kids excited about Jesus is one of the main goals of any Children’s Ministry, and the “Go Fish” guys know that better than anyone. Their music is top-notch, their energy is infectious, and their hearts are absolutely in the right place! I’ve gotten to know the band personally after visiting with them this past January at the CPC and over the phone the past several months. They are the hottest Christian kids’ group in the country today, and they are absolutely on fire for the Lord! Bring the whole family—the tickets are priced outrageously low for this type of show! The men in this group exude joy in the Lord and it is impossible to listen to their music without tapping your foot (or jumping up and dancing!). I hope that our congregation will endorse the seeds of faith that are being planted in our youngest members and make this an inter-generational, joyful, evangelistic highlight of our church year!
