Bob and Sheila Auld - Bob and Sheila moved to Tucson from Yorba Linda, California. Both are originally from Rochester, New York. Before retirement, Bob was an engineer for Xerox. The Aulds have a daughter and son living in Southern California and another daughter in Dallas. They now reside in SaddleBrooke where they enjoy golf, bridge, and their computers.
Avis Berg - Avis comes to St. Andrews from the Flagstaff Federated Community Church. For many years and in several cities, Avis was an elementary school teacher. Twice she took a group of students to France as a part of the American-France exchange program. Her husband, Otto, is retired from the faculty of Northern Arizona University. They have two adult sons living in the Phoenix area. The Bergs live in Oro Valley.
Bob and Harriet Brown - Bob and Harriet were members of St. Andrews from 1990-1995. Job transfers took them to Texas, Phoenix, then back to Tucson, where they hope to stay. They have four grown children. Two live in Texas and two in Colorado. Bob and Harriet are happy to be back in Tucson to once again reunite with the fellowship of St. Andrews.
Donna Bryant - Donna has been attending St. Andrews for three years and plays the flute with the contemporary worship ensemble. She first worked in food and environ-mental testing and later was employed by Organon Teknika Corp. as a Research Scientist in medical microbiology. The Bryants have two sons, Sean 6 and Stephen 4. Her career is "on hold" to allow her to be a stay-at-home Mom.
Dale and Betty Crawford - Dale and Betty moved to Tucson from the mountains of western North Carolina where they were members of Banner Elk United Methodist Church. Bob was the southeast sales manager for Kimberly-Clark Corp. before retirement. Betty has worked in accounting and the travel business. They have two sons and a daughter. The Crawfords live at Dove Mountain and work part-time for Travelbridge, Ltd.
Kyle Dehn - Kyle, a seventh grader at Wilson K-8 School, lives with his parents, Bill and Jodie, and his brother, Eric. He attends Prime-time at CORE Youth Ministries. Kyle enjoys playing tennis and skateboarding. He values the time he can spend at youth group and in Bible study.
Chelsea Enea - Chelsea was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Christmas Eve, 1987. She now lives in Tucson with her mother and stepfather, Brian Wachowiak and Karen Enea-Wachowiak. Chelsea is in the seventh grade at Wilson K-8 School.
Bob and Laura Ewens - Bob and Laura and their two sons, Jon and Marc, moved to Tucson 2½ years ago. They were members of another St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Groton, Connecticut. Bob works for Texas Instruments as a Reliability Engineer. Laura is an Instructional Aide at Wilson K-8 School. Jon is in 9th grade at CDO, and Marc is in 8th at Cross Middle School.
Salvatore and Jacqueline Grisaffe - Sal and Jackie came to Tucson from Ohio and transferred from the Rocky River United Methodist Church. Sal was Director, Aerospace Technology NASA Gun Research Center. He is a Fellow, American Society for Metals. Jackie had a career in nursing. They have a son in Indianapolis and a son and family in Sydney, Australia. The family includes three grandchildren. Sal and Jackie live in SaddleBrooke.
Dorothy J. Gruver - Dorothy was born in South Dakota. She came to Tucson with her husband, Gary, a clinical psychologist. They have been married 42 years. The climate and the U of A were magnets to Tucson 34 years ago. Dorothy has a BSN from U of A. She and her husband have one foster daughter whose five children call them Grandma and Grandpa. Dorothy has enjoyed being a volunteer in the church office the past four years.
Joanna Huggins - "Joey" was born in San Diego, but now lives in Tucson with her mother. She is in the seventh grade at Cross Middle School, and is active in CORE Youth Ministries. Joey enjoys drawing and dreams of being a famous actress someday.
Paul and Cynthia Karcher - Paul and Cynthia came to Tucson from Green Bay, Wisconsin where they were members of Union Congregational Church. Before retirement, Cynthia was a homemaker and Paul, a Distribution Manager for Inter-national Paper Company. They have three sons, two living in Milwaukee and one in Miami. Having been stationed at Ft. Huachuca from 1956-61, they were attracted to this area for retirement and settled in SaddleBrooke.
Mort, Mary, and Jason Palin - Mary has lived in Tucson since 1979 and Mort since 1986. Both were raised in Pennsylvania and have been in broadcasting for many years. Currently Mort is an Account Executive for ADT Security Systems. Mary has been employed by KRQ, KNST, KWFM and KCEE as Traffic Manager for 20 years. Jason is currently in the 5th grade at Ironwood Elementary School and is eleven years old. He enjoys playing baseball and his saxophone.
Ruth Ponchetti - Ruth came to Tucson 45 years ago. She and her husband, Harley, had three daughters. Ruth taught math for Tucson United School District for 31 years; the last 27 at Santa Rita High School. Ruth was a Fulbright Exchange Teacher in 1990-91 in Newquay, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Her husband passed away in 1995 and she retired in 1997. Besides her three daughters, Ruth has five grandsons and four granddaughters.
Milly Robison - After graduating from Purdue University in 1991, Milly came to Tucson. She completed her Masters Degree and began working for Hughes, now Raytheon, as an engineer. She is still there. Millie is a single parent and depended heavily on Christ and friends following her divorce. Her son, Alan, is 6 years old and attends kindergarten at Coyote Trail Elementary. Daughter Alexis is three.
Kenneth and Patricia Roush - Ken and Pat moved to Tucson in October from Chicago. They brought their business, Exhibit Squares, Inc., with them. They sell portable trade show displays. Pat and Ken have six children and eight grandchildren scattered from coast to coast. Ken enjoys handball, acting, singing, and many outdoor activities, as does Pat.
Kayla Sands - Kayla is 12
years old, but has a long history with St. Andrews. She attended
St. Andrews Preschool as a toddler, and now attends Cross Middle School. Kayla has
participated in St. Andrews Vacation Bible School every summer since she was five.
She enjoys swimming and diving.
Elizabeth Schmidt - Beth is originally from Traverse City, Michigan. She received a BS degree from Western Michigan and has a Masters in Labor Relations and Human Resources from Michigan State. Beth moved to Tucson in May, 2000 and is employed at Honeywell. In her spare time Beth enjoys running, hiking, skiing, golf, and travel.
Joanne Shortt - Joanne came to St. Andrews from Bethany Presbyterian Church in Gobles, Michigan where she was Clerk of Session, pianist/organist, and Sunday School teacher. Joanne has a BS in Ed. with a music minor. She has taught school and always been in church music ministry. At the present time she is singing with the ensemble at the Contemporary Worship Service. Joanne has five children and five grand-children. She is employed by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Douglas Smith - Douglas has been attending St. Andrews with his family, parents James and Sally and brother Stuart, since he was in second grade. This year he is a freshman at Canyon del Oro High School. He enjoys all sports, but basketball is his favorite. Douglas looks forward to the responsibilities of church membership and fully dedicating himself to the church.
Virginia Smith - Ginny was born in Arizona and raised in Minnesota. Before retirement she was an elementary school teacher and a medical social worker. She came to Tucson in 1992 to care for her mother. Ginny has a son and daughter and granddaughters, 7 years and 3 months. Ginny is an avid reader and is almost finished writing her first book. She is enjoying a renewed commitment to Christ.
Tiana Valenzuela - Tiana is the daughter of Terri Valenzuela. She has been active in the life of St. Andrews for 21 years. She currently attends Pima Community College and is majoring in music. Tiana also volunteers with the middle school students in St. Andrews CORE Youth Ministry. She enjoys singing, reading, skiing, and spending time with her niece Alexia.
Craig Wheeler - Craig is the son of Kyle and Barbara Wheeler. He was born in Tucson and baptized at St. Andrews. He is in eighth grade at Flowing Wells Junior High where he plays the drums in the band. He was an outstanding band student while in the seventh grade. Craig enjoys riding his bicycle and has won a second place trophy in BMX Motocross. Other interests include 4-H Poultry Club (he has two chickens named Pepper and Ginger), reading, science, and ceramics.
Jerry and Jane Wilson - Jerry and Jane moved to Tucson from Silver City, New Mexico where they were members of The First Presbyterian church. Before retirement Jerry was employed by Sandia National Laboratory as an Aeronautical Engineer. A son lives in Palm Desert with his wife and stepdaughters. A second son lives in Albuquerque. Jerry and Jane call SaddleBrooke home where they love to play golf.
