Becoming a Member

If you are considering membership in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, we rejoice! We believe that God first calls people into relationship with Jesus Christ and then into congregational relationship with each other. If you are being drawn toward membership with our church family, we believe God is sending you to us, and us to you. Individuals are received into membership in the following ways:

1. Profession of Faith—when a person professes faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior for the first time and enlists as a disciple.
2. Certificate of Transfer—when a person who has belonged to another Christian church transfers membership by a certificate issued from the former congregation.
3. Reaffirmation of Faith—for baptized persons who have previously made a profession of faith and were active members in a church but are unable to provide a Certificate of Transfer.

Classes for inquirers who want to consider membership are held four times a year. These classes offer adults the opportunity to consider their commitment to Christ and the church.

On a Sunday following the class new members are welcomed into the church during a Sunday service and greeted by the members at a reception.
